Daniel Fruman

Hey, I’m Daniel! Currently I’m a 2nd year Ancient Languages student at UCL, originally from Odesa, Ukraine. If you haven’t seen me around that’s because I’m either translating Babylonian incantation manuals, or working on something with Drama Soc. Last year I wrote The Binding of Loki for the New Writing Festival, and this past year the Term 1 Small Show As Terrible as God, played Dionysus in The Bacchae and thankfully, so much more.

I present myself to you as candidate for President. My work has proven that I can create, maintain and foster spaces for everyone to bring out the best in them creatively, forge unbreakable bonds and amplify the creative visions, and voices of so many incredibly talented actors, directors, and members of production. I have been committed to my view that theatre is a fundamentally queer space, the LGBTQ+ experience being a driving force in the work that I have done.

As President, my goal would be to run the society as smoothly as possible:

  • Hold more workshops
  • Have clear communication between committee, students, and SU
  • Sort out room bookings and unforeseen issues with maximum efficiency
  • MORE FOCUS on Pride and Reclamation as core parts of the society, and much more

Drama is my lifeblood. Through it and the catharsis it provides, I have found solace and happiness in the coldest times, I hope that the passion and the dedication I have shown to this society may prove infectious. And the stories we get to tell, grow more and more beautiful.
