As someone who's been hit in the face plenty of times by dodgeballs, I understand well the importance of welfare. Having been in dodgeball soc for over 1 and a half years (and competitive for a month-ish), I've grown to really care about both the members and the joy that this society can bring to us all! Being able to help look out for the welfare of our community would be the greatest privilege.

But what prior experience do I have to back me up? I'm so glad you asked. This past year I have been the president of UCL Classics Society, which has given me a valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes proceedings of a society, including the admin and different opportunities available for a Welfare Officer. I have also worked as Social Media Officer for the London Classicists of Colour, as well as in my first year being freshers representative for Classics Society and academic representative for the LCOC too. These roles have given me experience in working in a team, being delegated duties, and carrying them out to the best of my ability. I have also worked as a transition mentor and am currently in my department's EDI committee, positions which have boosted my pastoral abilities and ability to speak out for the sake of under-represented communities. I'd list more but alas, the character limit.

Vote for me (Diya) and I promise to try and avenge you if you ever get hit in the head by someone in a game (unless I'm already out, in which case I will cheer for you on the side).
