Sarah Habib

Hello everyone!

I’m Sarah, a second year studying Politics and International Relations. My long-standing interest in diplomacy, negotiation and international cooperation led me today to apply for the vice presidency. I believe that never before has the world been in such need of diplomacy and cooperation.

As a member for the past 2 years, I have been able to appreciate the quality and the diversity of the events and activities that have been put on by this amazing society. Watching the links being forged with other Diplomacy Societies in Kings and LSE was very enlightening, as was the annual summit itself and its organization. I admire the work accomplished and the high standards of the team.

My aim is to build on this hard work and continue on that path to reveal the strengths and assets of this society, first and foremost its team. As last year's social media director for the IR Society, I have learned a lot regarding team building and organization. In addition to this experience, my past practice as a choir representative and leader, helped me understand what team management means and how group dynamics works. With my problem-solving skills and my extroverted personality, I'll work to foster a constructive, productive and positive environment for learning. As a neurodivergent student, I understand the importance of good organization and will strive to put on engaging events for members.

I would be honored to take on this role and hope to exchange to you soon!

Gabriele Ferretti

Being a VP is not an easy job. It takes a sizable amount of organization, planning, and dedication to pull off correctly, alongside an intimate knowledge of the society that you represent. To be a VP, you have to be aware of this, and ready to do it—and I have just that.

I have already served the Diplomacy Society for a year, where I was Head of Events. During this time, I organized and helped run a number of events—more importantly however, I slowly became familiar with and came to deeply understand how the society runs. Not just the superficial events and positions, but also what goes on behind the scenes to get everything running. With this knowledge, I will be able to take hold of the responsibilities of VP with a set of capable hands.

As VP, I will take direct responsibility over the coordination of our society and committee. Be it long-term strategy to growing the society, or the day-to-day management of ensuring our events and career development programs run smoothly, or working alongside the President and Treasurer in working with the SU and raising funds, I will be there, on the ground, assisting and leading in whatever way I can.

Having a long history of leadership and management experience, a strong worth ethic, and a passion for the society, I am sure that as VP, I will help the Diplomacy Society thrive. With your vote of confidence, you yourself will help Diplosoc take a step towards just that.

Matthew Campbell

Having joined the Diplomacy Society at the start of the year, I immediately felt welcomed by not only the friendly and warm people, but the scope for opportunity that was afforded to me. Having used my platform as the First Year Representative to focus on the journal and newspaper publishing within the society, I feel that now I not only have a responsibility to continue this, but to expand my role and focus on events too. With my already clear understanding of the journalistic side of the society, I know I'm in a great position to do so.

I hope that I can retain my position on the committee and embrace all the newcomers with the same warmth I received!

Kata Mesterhazy

I am Kata Mesterházy, and I am standing for the vice president position, because as a Politics and International Relation student, I am passionate about diplomacy and global dialogue. Nonetheless, my previous experiences in the European Parliament and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly have inspired me to further develop my skills and pursue a diplomatic career.

My aims for the society is:

  1. Professional networks, to leverage my skills to maintain and build new networks, ensuring beneficial collaborations and opportunities for the members.
  2. Providing access to high profile guests thanks to already established connections I will provide a variety of accomplished individuals working in international politics and diplomacy.
  3. Planning career initiatives, helping to explore pathways for members in the field of diplomacy
  4. Fostering a thriving community, on the principles of diversity and inclusivity, dedicated to diplomacy and global engagement.

I am looking forward to working with the society!
