Alexander Anderson

Hi everyone!

My name is Alexander and I'm a first year student of French and Spanish. I have a keen interest in diplomacy and international relations, which is why I joined the Diplomacy society and participated in various activities within it.

As the Deputy Chief Editor for the Diplomat and the Column Economics Editor for the TDR, I have contributed to our society already and would like to continue to do so.

I have also enjoyed the amazing events that the society organised this past year, such as the Diplomacy conference, Pizza and Politics, and Embassy visits. I have learned a lot from these events, as well as had a great time.

That's why I'm applying for the position of Treasurer, to help the committee organise more of those events in the coming year!

I have a lot of experience in handling finances and payments - I am the President of the London Culture Society and was responsible for all financial and logistical matters until we got a treasurer two weeks ago. This will give me the time necessary to dedicate to this role.

During that time, I was responsible for paying invoices and tracking payments for over 15 events, ranging from musicals and operas to trips to Parliament.

This means that I have a lot of experience in managing budgets, logistics (such as booking rooms and venues) and ensuring that our events can be affordable and successful.

I can also work well with the Head of Events and aid other committee members to plan, collaborate on and execute innovative events, due to my experience in event management and

Kata Mesterhazy

I am Kata Mesterházy, and I am standing for the treasurer position, because as a Politics and International Relation student, I am passionate about diplomacy and political economics. Nonetheless, my previous experiences in the European Parliament and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly have inspired me to further develop my skills and pursue a diplomatic career.

As treasurer, I can promise to maximize the resources and responsible handling of society funds. I am committed to transparency and I prove to be very attentive to details, therefore, I believe I am an ideal candidate for handling the funds of the society.

My goal is to enable the society to successfully promote diplomatic relations by the effective management of funds.

I am looking forward to working with the society!

David Thomas

I'm eager to share why I’m not only competent in handling the treasurer’s responsibilities but also passionate about actively contributing to our collective and individual success and growth.

My Background:

  1. Experience in financial management through involvement with financial ministry and overseeing budget allocations for student organisations
  2. Practical insights gained from diverse internships in handling transactionstracking expenses, and ensuring financial accountability

I believe being treasurer should entail more than just managing numbers.

My plan:

  1. Collaboration: close work with the committee to set goals and foster a supportive community; contribute ideas, offer support, and engage in shaping our direction
  2. Events: while managing finances, I'll assist in planning engaging and informative events, from workshops to networking, ensuring they benefit all members
  3. Engagement: Beyond finances, I'll serve as a resource, providing adviceconnections, and support for our development

Drawing from my experience as your Careers Officer last term, I’m deeply dedicated to being active and engaged in the committee, contributing to the overall success and vitality of our society and members.
