Cici Chen

I am standing for head of events at the Diplomacy Society because I have a strong passion for organising events and creating meaningful connections within the realm of international relations. Having attended various events hosted by the Diplomacy Society, including the diplomatic breakfasts, the journalism conference and some embassy visits, I have been amazed by the power of diplomacy and am inspired to get more involved to make a difference.

My previous role as liaison officer in the Chinese society equipped me with valuable skills in event coordination, where I successfully organised events such as the League of Legends competition and Lantern food festival. Additionally, during my internship at a think tank, I delved deep into researching about international relations and assisted in setting up academic conferences and panels. These experiences have provided me with the skills necessary to handle the hustle of event planning and networking effectively.

Looking ahead, I'm eager to organise even more exciting events for the society. I would love to arrange embassy visits to Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries, opening up new avenues for cultural exchange and networking. By expanding our event offerings, I believe we can further enrich the experiences of our members and strengthen our professional networks, paving the way for even greater opportunities in the future.
