Faye Corey

Hi! I'm Faye and I'm a current 3rd year medical student intercalating in Surgical Sciences. I'm running for the position of Welfare Officer this year, having held this position for the current year, and Publicity Officer the year prior. As well as this role, I held the role of President for the Cheerleading Club this year, which has developed my admin and organisational skills as well as knowledge of the Union's processes and forms to be able to make events run!

I have been an active member of our society and committee for the past two years, and my passion for this specialty has only grown over this time. Dermatological conditions play a huge role in people's self-esteem and can have great consequences on mental health. As Welfare Officer, I will prioritise the wellbeing of our members through organising social activities as well as being there to talk! I will also promote awareness to destigmatise the conversations around our skin and our wellbeing. I aim to collaborate with the committee to arrange workshops to provide a space to discuss this important aspect of psychodermatology which, in my opinion, is not talked about enough.
