Data Science Society: Head of Science

As a current First Year Representative for Data Science Society under the Science Branch, I wish to take up this role and support the DSS.

After working with Jonathan, the former head of Science, I believe that I am equipped with the knowledge of the traditional methods of delivering the DSS tutorials; especially after delivering 2 of them with the help of other FYR (of which the success shall not be discussed here for reasons ...). Nevertheless, I have a fair few ideas to improve upon the tutorials, trying to make it more accessible to the future years, conserving it strengths at the same time. As they do say that "Nothing is impossible, until you can't do it". Jokes aside, I am willing to spend my time to talk with both the committee and those taking the tutorial to constantly strive and improve it's quality.

As a Computer Scientist interested in statistical analysis of data, I do have specialty in python programming of various ML algorithms such as linear reg, logistic reg, SVM, decision trees, etc... However, I would like to emphasise the fact that there will be others with a deeper understanding of data science and the statistics behind it. Therefore, I would like to get in contact with a wide range of people to ask for their expertise when delivering tutorials and improving the quality of the hackathons.
