Cricket Club (Women's): Captain (First Team)

Hi everyone, I’m Aishi! I know that I have only joined the UCLWCC this year, but I have absolutely loved being part of this team so far, and I am looking forward to our summer of cricket as the Women’s 1st XI! Nominating myself for captain, especially in my first year of uni, feels quite scary, but I have met lots of lovely people on the team and am confident that I will be supported if I succeed in the leadership race! Before university, I was the Women’s 1st XI Captain for several years at my local club, and worked with my fellow teammates to build a ladies and girls section at our club from the ground up, which is now thriving. I believe that this experience has given me the skills to succeed at being an approachable, friendly, and accommodating 1st XI captain for the UCLWCC. I believe that playing cricket is most enjoyable when you have a strong and dependable team, with a leader who is a key team-player, and I know that I will perform to the best of my abilities in this role.
