Canadian Society: Events Officer

I stand for this position because I want to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment for Canadians studying in London. Arriving in London this year, I found myself searching for anything familiar to make the switch to university more comfortable. Although I made many friends from around the world, it is always special talking to other Canadians, as they share similar past experiences, and feel like a tie back home. Thus, I would love to serve as the events officer next year as I want to ensure all Canadian students have a smooth transition into university by organizing fun events that bring people together. I would hope to plan get-togethers that leave new students feeling more settled, knowing they have a place in this society. With strong organizational skills and lots of experience in event planning from high school, I believe I would be successful in this role. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my creativity to the Canadian Society, and I can't wait to collaborate with returning and new members.
