Hey! I’m Cecilia, I’m currently in my third year, and I’m excited to be running to be your Senior Women’s Captain! We’ve come so far as a squad over the past few years, and I’ve got some exciting plans and ideas to help us keep progressing towards winning even more UH medals and impressing in BR races.

I have already got some ideas on how we are going to achieve these goals:

  • Run ‘introduction to weights’ sessions for RUMSBC members, so everyone feels comfortable using weights in the gym, allowing us to get stronger and make bigger gains on the water next year!
  • Ensure every member of the squad gets coaching and guidance in as many water sessions as possible, allowing us to translate corrections made on the water into our land training.
  • Chat with all members of the senior woman at the beginning of the year to gauge what everyone's personal goals for the year are.

I’ve learnt so much from my time in the club and have enjoyed being involved this year in events such as This Girl Can Circuits, which gave me insight into the runnings of the club. Being good friends with this year's novice women's captain, Freja, has allowed me to coach the novice women for a few sessions, allowing me to get to know them better, and hopefully making their transition to the seniors smoother next year!
