Election post
The fundraising efforts this year have been incredible, and I believe that as a fundraiser I could continue this as well as introducing some new events.
The ergathon was a massive success and a club-wide effort saw almost £1500 raised for the Royal Free charity, so as a fundraiser I would definitely organise this again. A few weeks ago RUMS BC actually featured in the presentation that the Royal Free charity were giving to us in CPP, and that’s what made me realise how important it is that we continue with efforts like this to show everyone what we already know, that we’re the best society out there.
It seems that quite a few members will be running the Richmond Half in September, and an early concerted effort with Media & Comms to raise money would hopefully see it be as much of a success as the ergathon and women’s 10k were.
At points it has been hard to keep track of all of the stash that goes out, and so as a fundraiser I would create a catalogue across all of the brands of kit to show people what stash is available and when this is likely to be delivered. Furthermore, I would put in a much earlier order in for freshers’ unisuits, as well as trying to gather up a few from the alumni to keep the cost down.
I am sure there will be other opportunities to raise money that pop up throughout the year and I would do my best to make these events as successful as possible.
