I'm Kateryna Polishchuk, a BSc Biomedical Sciences student from Ukraine.
As a member of the society for the past year, I have gained valuable exposure to the society's accomplishments. My passion for this field motivates me to become the president of the Biopharma Society to build upon the committee’s current successes.
I have the required leadership and organizational skills for this position from my experience as president of the Biomedical Sciences Society before joining UCL. Working closely with society members, I organized various events and conferences, with a focus on improving member experience.
In the role of president, I plan to continue to expand key initiatives introduced by the committee and work with all society members to implement the following:
- Talks and webinars featuring professionals from the biopharmaceutical industry, professors and entrepreneurs with interactive panel discussions and Q&A sessions to facilitate valuable networking opportunities for members.
- Workshops focusing on CV writing, internship searches, and industry-specific skill development to empower members in job applications and career development.
- Collaborative events to strengthen partnerships between societies and universities, broadening outreach.
- Socials and newsletters to foster engagement.
Recognizing the role’s importance and responsibilities, I am committed to dedicating my best effort to help society thrive.

Thank you!
Hey there, I'm Eshaan, a second-year student and I'd love to put myself forth as Biopharm Soc's president. So far at UCL, I've been fortunate to hold key positions such as FYR and now events secretary for the Biochemical Engineering Society, as well as mentorship executive for the MedTech society. I've also served as the academic representative for two years in a row, represented UCL on the iChemE student steering committee, and am currently UCL's AstraZeneca brand ambassador.
In addition to my roles at UCL, I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry, most notably at Haleon (GSK consumer healthcare) last summer, where I gained invaluable industry insights. I believe that my prior experiences uniquely position me to steer our society in the right direction and organise events that appeal to everyone, whether they are interested in academia or industry.
