Hello Bhangra society members!

My name is Suraj and I’m applying to be your welfare officer. My aim is to strengthen our team’s cohesion through addressing anyone’s concerns and to be a friendly and approachable teammate.

Ever since the start of classes this year, I have loved building connections with my team members through encouragement in practice, socials outside, and general conversation about how everyone is finding things. I am fortunate to be a first year representative of 3 societies - this has allowed me to get to know many people and become someone to talk to about any issues.

The main way I would like to act as welfare officer is through allocating time in our classes for the team to come forward with any concerns or issues. We would engage in open discussion if possible; however, should individual discussion be necessary, I am confident I would have the ability to do so. Having participated in Rangeela, I have danced with a team already and can appreciate what is important to a society’s members. I have had a complete Bhangra experience that gives me confidence to work in welfare.

In the future I hope that we become even more open in communication so that our team can grow closer and therefore dance better together. I look forward to what is to come from Bhangra Society!
