Election post
Hi! My name is Amala and I am a second-year BSc Psychology student. I have had the privilege of being one of the Communications Directors at BIS this year, designing marketing materials for BIS events and helping to distribute our weekly newsletters. Being part of BIS has been highly enlightening, helping to kickstart my love for behavioural science; I have learnt so much about the field through attending professionally-led seminars and exchanging experiences with my fellow society members.
I would love to give back to BIS further through assuming the position of Publishing Director of the BIS Behavioural Archives Blog next year. I have editorial experience through being the Editor-in-Chief of my House Newsletter in Sixth Form, where I collated submissions from individuals throughout the school and edited monthly editions. This year I have also been a writer for the PALS (Psychology and Language Sciences) Press Blog here at UCL, where I’ve used behavioural science principles to write about topics like cultural differences in decision-making. Holding both editor and writer positions has helped me fully appreciate the dedication and effort that goes into maintaining a successful blog, and as Publishing Director I will be determined to uphold the high standards already set by the Behavioural Archives team.
I look forward to maintaining my involvement with the society next year and connecting with more BeSci enthusiasts; thank you for considering me for this role!
