Valini Dabysing

Hii, my name is Valini! I joined barbell at the beginning of the year but i'm a total newbie powerlifter. I'm always up for a good night out but I also enjoy any chill fun activities.

My interest in powerlifting started since getting the social membership and meeting new amazing people that made my time at the gym so much better. I would love to be your new social secretary and be able to organise multiple socials during the year! Not only Phineas nights (which will definitely be happening) but Barbell dinners, Barbell girl events (which we already started this year), fun activities and much more. I want to be able to have more social events for the club to be able to introduce the barbell community to those who might be interested but to shy to join! It would also be great opportunities for the new barbell members to get to know each other and form a nice connection like we've already had this year.

I'm excited for next year and the amazing memories we'll be making and hopeful to be your next Social Secretary!!

Natalia Drozd

Hey! My name is Natty (and yes I am natty!). I first competed in powerlifting 1.5 years ago, but I was doing bodybuilding training until I started at UCL this year.

I would love to be your Social Secretary! I absolutely love Barbell socials, and as your (potential) Social sec I would ensure there are many more of these. I go to almost every social, and I would love to make these more common! We definitely need more sports nights outings to Phineas, but also other socials like climbing, dinners, and more. I would of course put up polls to gauge an understanding of what we want to do :) I would also love to implement more events for the girlies!

I love the Barbell community, and more socials would allow us all to make even more friends in the club! I can't wait too see what the future holds for Barbell club <3

Inara Vanessa João André

I joined barbell last year. As a newbie I would have loved to have various events to help integrate into the society but unfortunately I didn't have that opportunity - nevertheless I've settled in great with barbell soc!

From this year's experience I have lots of ideas and enthusiasm towards getting one of UCL's friendliest society connected through events, seminars etc. I am a weightlifter that switched over from Pole Vaulting and then Bodybuilding (a minority here) but look to integrate our sports of Powerlifting, Weightlifting, Bodybuilding & Crossfit by engaging more with our alumni network; so much of which are experts in these respective areas.

I have experience in research & networking developed from my current roles (academic year 23/24) as Vice President of the IDEAs Society and Treasurer of the Vegan Vegetarian Society. My role in these societies also highlight my interests in sustainability/nutrition.

As social sec I aim to organise not only lots of fun barbell socials but also some informative seminars and workshops to help us develop as athletes!

Aadhik B Easwar

Having been a part of UCL barbell for two years now, I have developed a deep appreciation for the barbell community. It is a highly supportive and engaging community to be a part of.

As social secretary, I will work to help maintain and grow this community. I intend to plan and organize multiple socials for the coming year. Including phineas sports nights, climbing gym trips and more. I will also plan joint socials with other societies.
