Shayaan Hussain

I am excited to submit my nomination for the position of president of UCL Bangla Society. My decision to run stems from a deep passion for Bengali culture and a strong desire to foster a vibrant and inclusive community within our society, celebrating the rich tapestry of Bengali culture and extending its reach to every corner of our university.

As we look forward, I plan to create a year brimming with exciting events including lively games nights, relaxed social nights such as galentines as well as events to celebrate and learn about our culture. There’ll be something for everyone to look forward to.

One of my primary goals for the upcoming year is to work with charities which have strong connections to student bodies. As one of the largest universities in the UK we have the potential to contribute in meaningful ways to charities such as Maa.

I would like UCL Bangla society to take part in Maa month 2025 which presents a wonderful opportunity for us to unite and fundraise for an organization dedicated to supporting mothers and young women in developing countries.

Through innovative and fun-filled fundraising events such as games nights, football tournaments, dinners, bake sales, and some exciting potential collab events, we can come together as a community to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Thank you for considering me for the role of President. Let's make this a year to remember!
