Asiatic Affairs Society: Treasurer

Hi! I’m Yuan Ke, and I am running for Treasurer of Asiatic Affairs Society!

As a Singaporean studying PPE, I firmly believe that the Asiatic Affairs society provides a great opportunity for UCL students interested in Asia to explore their interests and gain experience. That is why I am running - I hope to contribute to the society and elevate its operations as Treasurer.

I will do this in two main ways - Transparency and Sustainability. 

Firstly, I promise to manage the finances of our society transparently. I will track finances diligently and promptly, and communicate clearly with members as to how their funds are being used. I will also actively seek membership feedback to ensure that the society's finances are used to best benefit members. 

Secondly, I will find innovative methods to ensure fiscal sustainability of our society. This will be done by regular evaluation of society activities to reduce inefficiency, and most importantly, securing more sponsors to help fund our activities. I am also open to new ideas or initiatives from all members. 

I believe that what makes the society so valuable is its people - thus, I will take a people-centric approach, and focus on managing our finances with benefitting our members as the end-goal.
