Ralf Arnell

Hi everyone, I'm Ralf and I'm a first year ISPS student specialising in Anthropology and Mandarin.

By standing for the position of Marketing Director, I hope to increase interest in Asiatic Affairs and the work of the society across UCL. By collaborating with societies and departments to publicise our work, I aim to bring new perspectives into the society to expand the subject and geographical areas covered in publications. UCL's rich pool of talent and diverse interests provides an excellent basis for wider participation, both in terms of readership and writers, that can bolster a general interest in the relatively underrepresented field of Asian Studies.

Furthermore, I wish to continue the building up of the society's social media presence. Enhancing our reputation and connecting with wider audiences provides us with an excellent opportunity to distribute the hard work of the society across audiences greater than UCL. Campaigns to draw attention to specific themes, in collaboration with other universities across London, will allow for the creation of a space where new ideas can flourish and writers can thrive.

Above all, I hope to turn my enthusiasm for Asiatic affairs into excellent outcomes for the society and wider field of study. The potential of the society is limitless, and I would love to contribute to its success.
