Cecile Cornthwaite

Hey everyone! My name is Cecile, a first year Language and Culture student, and I’d love to be your Art Society welfare officer! Though I haven’t been a part of the Art Society for long, I’ve already experienced the amazing connection that this group provides. Being a part of Art Soc has given me some amazing opportunities to learn and practise my art while also enjoying a welcoming, social environment.

In this position I would be devoted to continuing that positive environment while also fostering a supportive community that builds awareness and encouragement around welfare and mental health. I would be committed to making sure everyone feels included and safe through welfare sessions and events and as a dedicated point of contact for anyone struggling. My most relevant past experience includes

  • UCL Course Representative - 2023/24
  • Music Honour’s Society: Social media manager and 11th grade band representative - 2021/22
  • 100+ hours of volunteering in student support, management, and charity events in band, Spanish Honour’s Society, and in the local community

As an art lover, well experienced leader, and committed (though perhaps not great) artist I’m passionate about my ability to go above and beyond the duties as welfare officer and support the positivity and openness of our society. It would be an incredible honour to serve you all!
