Art Society: Treasurer

Hi, I’m Aishani, and I would love to be your treasurer! Being an active member of artsoc for the past two years, I want to help run the society and make sure our finances are well maintained this coming year, so we can keep our creativity alive at uni and continue to explore various modes of art!

I am ready to take on budgeting and other administrative and financial responsibilities for the club; I want to make art as accessible as possible here at UCL!

• One of my main goals is to try to change the life drawing tickets from pay-at-the-door to digital, so ease of access to tickets is improved.
• Knowing first hand how much materials cost (for example for oil paintings/sculptures), another goal of mine is to make sure material costs are handled efficiently and that all materials are provided during open studio times.

I will also aim to raise funds so we can maintain the variety of events we have on offer, continue some of our popular series (such as life drawing), and also introduce new events and activities with the help of the rest of the committee. I also aim to raise some money for charity in connection to our events, which will go towards good causes! With me as treasurer, you can expect a financially flawless academic year ahead for artsoc!

A society budget is essential to the quality and scope of events/opportunities it can provide. The Art Society's events couldn't have existed without careful financial planning. I am more than happy and wanting to take this up for the society. Having lead the film soc back in high school, organising large scale film screenings, and even managing the budget for my MODO fashion show collection, I have a deep appreciation for what goes into event planning - and just what costs are involved in such activities.

As a Maths student (sigh) and Notion control-freak - I am confident in my ability to manage the society's finances accurately and efficiently, and find us the best prices and suppliers when it comes to spending. I'm willing to do what's needed - all the administration - to ensure we can continue the momentum set this year. The ultimate goal is to foster an environment where the creativity and talent here can flourish, benefiting all members of our community. Thank you xo
