UCL is an institute that prides itself on being a culturally diverse, enriching environment. That diversity is even further reflected in the Arab and North African Society as it's a sanctuary for students from all parts of the MENA region to come together and celebrate culture. While culture is an absolutely beautiful thing to celebrate, living in a western country far away from home can make that a challenge. However, I strongly believe in the importance of  keeping touch with your roots no matter where you are, and what better way to do that than through language! I am very passionate about languages. Having graduated with a bilingual IB diploma ; this has required me to take Arabic at an advanced level in school. Additionally, taking Quran courses as a very young child allowed me to become highly skilled in Arabic reading, writing and mastering proper pronunciation for both Formal (فصحة) and conversational Arabic. I'm a native Arabic speaker with proficiency in English, as I have received an international education: making it easy for me to translate and transfer my language skills from English to Arabic and vice versa. I have provided Arabic language support to many of my peers, friends, and family over the years, which inspired me to continue doing so on a larger scale. I believe this is the perfect opportunity for me to give back to my community and help students better explore their identity and embrace their culture. Thank you for considering my application!
