Hi, my name is Amelia and I am running for the journal editor.
I really want to make the journal a really dynamic and relevant journal within the UCL society that has a lot of interesting articles and ideas. I want the student body to be able to know that this journal is somewhere they take their ideas to where it can be taken seriously and put in with a collection of other really great texts.
The journal has not had the effort that it deserves and I would love to help discover its potential!
I am standing to be the journal editor of Amnesty International because I believe this is an incredible opportunity for me to express my passion in raising awareness about human rights. In a world swirling with ongoing conflicts and misinformation, it is essential to wield the power of words to inspire change and speak our truths. As journal editor, I aim to amplify the voices of those who are in need of advocacy or want to spark a change - even if it may be controversial. I am dedicated to fostering a platform that not only informs but also engages the UCL community to make meaningful conversations in support of human rights globally. My eye for detail and editorial vision makes me well-suited to lead the Amnesty, and it will be an amazing opportunity for me to personally develop my view of the world as well.
