ADM Mathematics Society: Welfare Officer

Hi, my name’s Azan and I’m a second year Mathematics student with a special interest in physics. I love to take photos (and have way too many cameras) so hopefully I can capture some good moments on film at the ADM. I’m also very passionate about the music I enjoy so will be trying to control the aux every chance I get.

I’m putting myself forward as welfare officer so I can help develop the ADM into a safe and comfortable place to all its members. I would aim to see the society incorporate more events appreciating the variety of cultures and overall differences of all the members while still helping everyone integrate in. I especially would like to promote the society more heavily towards less involved members whether that be new incoming students or students who have simply not participated greatly in the past by expanding the society from primarily very educational experiences and giving opportunities to rest from the stress of university and socialise. I think I’d be a good fit for this role since I find it easy to connect with many different types of people and so I’d be able to listen and provide support to anyone who was struggling or simply wanted a listening ear.
