Abacus Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone! My name is Angela, and I am running to be your ABACUS treasurer. As a first-year student, I was lucky to discover this society where I can relate to the values advocated by ABACUS and its members. After working closely with the committee as a first-year rep, I am inspired by the dedicated efforts they put into ensuring the best experience for everyone.

Throughout high school and my free time, I consistently took on leadership roles and responsibilities in various societies. I served as the president of the theatre tech club, overseeing a group of 40+ members for 3 years. During this time, I organized 3 international events in collaboration with 5 partner schools across Asia. Additionally, I participated in over 10 productions, handling tasks ranging from backstage directing to light and sound design. I also worked as a content creator for a social media account with more than 300k followers.

Regarding treasury-specific experience, I produced a 20-page consulting report using various business tools to provide suggestions on maximizing profit for a logistics company. I also assisted a startup with pricing and marketing strategies after gaining insights into customer behaviour through retail experience. Moreover, I received the top mark in IB Business and was awarded the management award.
