What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Hello everyone!
My name is Elisa. I am a UN Women delegate and passionate law student with leadership experience in women and inclusion-oriented organisations. I directed a fundraiser of over £10,000 for the inclusion of children with cancer and group activities for children with ASD.
I have an extensive background in advocating and promoting gender equity:
- UN Commission: I review gaps in education to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
- UN "Safe Spaces Now": I work for inclusive and safe public spaces.
- I volunteer to support sexual abuse survivors.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Eating Disorders & Body Image
- Calorie-Free Day: Replace large displays with menus.
- Positive Fashion Show: for ALL styles & sizes.
- Workshops: Dangers of disordered eating & healthy relationship with food/BI.
Equal Representation
- Gender-Equal Journal: "Student of the Month" awards: for those who self-identify as women, men, non-binary & any other gender expression.
- Social Media: Advertise female campaigns, achievements & critical issues.
Sexual & Gender-based Violence
- Share & Support: Anonymous forums & UCL-wide mentorship.
- Campus Lighting: Assess the cost of safe night travel.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
As a woman of colour, I will bring unique intersectional experiences to any leadership role I undertake. I have undertaken several leadership roles, which provides me with the necessary experience to lead the union. I have been a consistent advocate for women's equality for years now, particularly focusing on the inclusion of women from different social and cultural backgrounds, and I look forward to the opportunity to maintain my commitment to creating equitable and inclusive spaces for diverse women.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Encourage women to take on leadership roles, and educate students about the contributions women in power can make.
Improved period policies,
Welfare services: Self-defence programs, assistance and resources to fight against sexual harassment, exploitation, stalking, and rape culture, amongst many more.
Exclusive events for the self-defining women's community including workshops, seminars and training sessions for leadership and entrepreneurship.
Attention to all factors like race, sexual orientation, physical ability and gender identity to ensure all experiences are represented.

While advocating women's empowerment is a natural step for me, changing how society works is daunting. And not always within your control. So I start with what I can control- making an impact on and for the students’ community that I am a part of. It’s said that girls with dreams become women with vision. I will work for your empowerment to carry out such a vision. I will strive for spaces where women with varied experiences feel heard but more importantly, valued. I recognise that leadership is about listening, learning and growing alongside those that I lead. I'm in for the ride if you are.
