Sirine Bhouri

Hello everyone, I am Sirine Bhouri, a second year Biomedical Engineering student and I am nominating myself for the role of President !

I joined UCLWES in November 2021 and have been the society’s treasurer for the past year. I loved being part of such a vibrant, ambitious and empowering society. I genuinely wish nothing more than to make UCLWES an enjoyable and valuable, both academically and professionally, society and I believe I have what it takes to achieve this as the President.

Firstly, I have experience with this position since I was the President of the Harvard Model United Nations club of my secondary school. I have gained valuable organisational and leadership skills from that role and I hope to apply them in my next mandate.

Secondly, having been the treasurer of UCLWES for over a year now, I am familiar with the society's logistics and with occupying a role of responsibility within it. Having to find sponsors in a short period of time in order to keep the society thriving, and to liaise with both committee members and external sponsors, further improved my time management and communication skills.

Finally, throughout the year, I worked closely with the current President and know exactly the responsibilities and tasks that come with this position. I have learnt a lot from her current experiences in terms of event organisation and inter-society collaboration and am confident that I am fully prepared to occupy this role.

I have various ideas for next year’s UCLWES and below are some of them:
