Women in Finance Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone! 

My name is Mehak, and I study PPE, I’m currently a first-year representative for Women in Finance. I’ve really enjoyed being a part of such an ambitious, vibrant, and empowering community of women, and want to continue this legacy by running for the position of treasurer. 

Currently, I have been involved in organizing the “Share The Vision” conference, socials and have been attending talks by leaders in their respective fields. My previous experience as head of sponsorships for my school’s TEDx event, and director for Singapore’s 24-hour race has enabled me to develop the skills to manage budgets and apply financial management acumen to different aspects of each event. As the treasurer, I would like to grow our past initiatives through: 

• Increasing mentorship outreach: These opportunities should be accessible at any point during the year, which is especially important for those who don’t have much knowledge about the financial industry.
• Partnership opportunities: Organising events with boutique firms run by women so members will be given a chance to form meaningful connections with their role models. 
• Volunteering: Raising funds for women in finance to collaborate with schools in underprivileged communities to help students with their applications for insight programs. 

Lastly, I hope to increase the funding for socials so members will have access to a larger community of women in finance at UCL, and form connections that last.
