Women in Finance Society: Head of Relations and Outreach

What I enjoyed most about being a first-year rep was the abundance of relationships and connections I was able to form from the plentiful events. From like-minded female students with shared aspirations to committee members with inspiring achievements, as well as hearing from women already in the finance industry, there's so much to learn and gain from each other!
I wish to achieve two main goals: create more and diverse opportunities through our programs to give girls exclusive insights into finance, and maintain the relations behind the scenes. I'm passionate about educating girls and those from low socio-economic backgrounds about the opportunities in finance, as growing up and going to state school I was only ever exposed to a push for girls into STEM: to be part of the shift via WinF would be so meaningful!

As events officer with Solidaritee UCL, I have experience in volunteering and pro-bono work, so I'd love to combine that with finance. My plan with CTRL Your Tomorrow and the On&Up program would be to increase visibility and awareness about the work we do, and to hold more frequent workshops with more schools, such as CV clinics, elevator pitch exercises, and confidence building activities. I also believe a finance-related competition like trading or building an investment portfolio would be a great way to spark interest in finance in young girls. I am keen to provide effective mentorships to the girls that will last life-long and help them achieve their aspirations.
