Candidates

Ipek Ersanli

My name is Ipek and I’m running for Director of Marketing. I am a first-year Management Science student interested in brand management and marketing analytics.

I define myself as a creative person and believe I have sufficient experience to overcome any challenges in this role. I co-founded a student-led online magazine called Kose where students were able to express their opinions on current issues in an uncensored environment. As the creative director, I organized the website of the magazine, as well as managing its social media accounts. My main responsibility was to edit and organize each issue according to the weekly theme that I chose. With the experience I gained, I am willing to increase the reach on our social media pages, help bolster the image of our society and promote events. I would also use my communication skills to collaborate within WinF to create events which would increase the engagement of our team and encourage others to join our society.

I honed my design skills by creating a range of digital content and gained experience in using software such as Canvas, iMovie, and Premier Pro. These skills will help me create and design content for the social media accounts of WinF. I would also prepare short marketing briefs for our society, which would include the latest innovations and financial developments every month. Given my relevant experience and passion for this society, I believe I would thrive in being the Director of Marketing. Thank you!

Pragya Agrawal

Hi, I am Pragya, a second-year Economics and Business student. I am inclined towards a career in finance and I’ll be joining BNP Paribas as a summer intern in their Global Markets division this year.

As a member of the WinF Society in my first year, attending events like Share the Vision and listening to female leaders like Pooja Rohra broadened my perspectives on the finance industry.

This year, serving as the Marketing Executive for WinF has exposed me to the Marketing division and the Committee. I believe this experience will enable me to efficiently carry out my duties as the Head of Marketing at WinF. I aim to continue delivering excellent communication about the events and opportunities and ensuring a wide reach for WinF by implementing creative ideas like social media competitions, tutorials, collaborations, and giveaways!

Throughout my journey at university, this society has guided and supported me through its events and I would love to take the chance to give back by participating in kickstarting the new year with new strategies and remarkable events!

Chrysa Dimopoulou

As the Head of Marketing, I would want to increase the outreach of WiF. Having been inspired into this sector through this society, I want to give the same experience to other women who may have not considered this path. If I were to be elected, I would make sure to acquire a large target audience of women of different degree backgrounds, through social media and numerous inter-societal events. This is crucial for spreading the message that this path is available to anyone passionate about it.

I would also introduce an initiative of weekly, informative, finance-related news debriefs on our Instagram stories. With many of us having to cope with demanding degrees, this would be a less daunting way to engage and remain up-to-date, attracting new members and establishing a competitive edge for future employment roles. Event advertising would also involve active Q&A discussions to ensure clarity and engagement.

Having participated in a Marketing Manager course, I want to increase publicity through effective public relations, such as promoting speaker events with attractive, 'big name', corporations. I believe my effective leadership and organisation qualities, which I exercised through managing my school's Young Enterprise team, will be necessary as a committee member and delegating an active online presence. If I were to be elected, my genuine passion for getting women into finance would motivate me to constantly innovate new marketing strategies to grow our reach.

Alessandra Suar

I am standing for head of marketing as I want to pursue a career in marketing and feel this role would be a great opportunity to learn more and also show the skills I already have. I also find this society such a great way to give women more opportunity in the world of finance and giving my contribution by being head of marketing would be an honor. I have some experience after my summer internship where I had marketing tasks for a skincare startup called Kaea but hope to learn more with this role. Lastly, I took a marketing class last year which was by far my favorite class at UCL as of now, which makes me even more enthusiastic for this role.
