Shriya Rastogi

Hi! I’m Shriya Rastogi, studying BSc Economics. I am thrilled to run for Head of Events this year!

I look forward to organising panel discussions, coffee chats, case study workshops and other creative events that help demystify the finance industry while giving members the opportunity to develop their interest in the field.

Beyond networking events, I cannot wait to organise committee socials like karaoke and board games nights that are welcoming and strengthen our community :)

I believe I would fit this role as I had fun organising various social events and conferences as head of the MUN society in school. Moreover, I am passionate about finance and would enjoy organising events that would allow others to discover their passion as well!

Tehniyat Ikram

When I started at UCL, the WinF Society stood out to me as it combined my interest in finance with my passion for championing female achievement. As FYR, I have really enjoyed meeting such intelligent young women, developing industry knowledge and supporting this year’s committee, all of which have driven me to run for Head of Events for 2023/24!

My vision for what WinF can do to continue inspiring female leaders in finance:

  • Utilise our London connections by collaborating with societies such as LSE/KCL Women in Business and Finance.
  • Upscale mentoring scheme with regular meet-ups between all spring/summer applicants and mentors.
  • More events/partnerships with student career organisations such as GAIN and Bright Network. I would like to nurture a supportive environment for everyone regardless of background and these organisations provide excellent help for all undergrads.

My past experience has prepared me well for this position:

  • FYR: Assisted with organising events and creating social media posts, supported prep for Share the Vision Conference 2022.
  • UCL Fintech Review Correspondent: Managed my time, communicated efficiently and met deadlines consistently to contribute to 3 ESG articles.
  • Student Ambassador for my high school, coordinated school-wide assemblies, produced presentations, and delegated tasks.

I believe that with my ambition to succeed, attention to detail and collaboration skills, I will thrive as Head of Events for the UCL WinF Society.
