Volunteering Society: Welfare Officer

I am interested in the role of Welfare officer because it enables us to create positive change in society. I understand that this role requires dedication to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all members of our society, as well as fostering an inclusive and supportive community for all volunteers.

I enjoy getting involved because I dislike injustices, which has led to me being called a “Care Bear”. In my spare time, I have done volunteering work that reflects my values of "Giving back what I was given”. I especially got  involved  in my high school associations. I organised events such as a Christmas for the homeless, an international summit … 

I also organised an awareness campaign against harassment which ended with a “dedicated” day. For this event, we invited professionals (psychologists, etc.) as well as victims who were able to talk about their experiences. At the end of the day, we were able to collect many testimonies from students who denounced their aggressors. Thanks to the school and the help of professionals we were able to give them appropriate help and support while making a positive impact on our community.
