Shelisse G J Durity Wingson

Hi! My name is Shelisse Durity Wingson and I am a second year law student. I was the Women’s Volleyball team captain this past year. As Welfare Officer I would love to bring in Welfare Wednesdays with posts and updates. I would be open to anyone if they ever wanted to chat about volleyball or anything else!

Edmund Ngan

My name is Edmund and I am a first year student on the UCL volleyball men's team. I would like to run for welfare officer because I feel that the club this year did not have enough social events which allowed us to interact outside of our team. I believe that it is important to build a strong bond between the different teams in UCL's volleyball club because it will instill a stronger sense of camaraderie amongst the members which allows us to better enjoy our experience in the club.

If I am elected, I will organize monthly social events with the other committee members in order to promote bonding between the different teams. Some possible ideas I have in mind are picnics, movie screenings, bar socials or potluck dinners. Ultimately, the possibilities are endless and I will do my best to listen to the members of the volleyball club and organize socials which are enticing to as many members as possible.

One of my strengths I can bring to the table is my experience in planning events like these as I have been active in planning socials for up to 150 people for the UCL Singapore Society as part of their junior committee. This would make planning for future socials in the club easier as I am already familiar with the logistics required. I sincerely hope that I will be given the opportunity to contribute back to the volleyball club which has been a core part of my experience here in UCL and I promise that if I am elected I will do my best to improve the welfare of members.
