Turkish Society: Social Media Officer

My name is Ipek and I’m running for Social Media Director for next year as I am willing to contribute to the beautiful Turkish Society reunion formed this year. I am a first-year Management Science student. 

I define myself as a creative person and believe I have sufficient experience to overcome any challenges to this role. I co-founded a student-led online magazine called Kose, where Turkish students were able to express their opinions on current issues. As the creative director of Kose, I organised its website as well as managing its social media accounts. My main responsibility was to edit and organize each issue according to the weekly theme. 

As well as my co-founded project, I worked with Greenpeace and a few successful Turkish start-ups. These projects were mostly based on climate change and environmental issues. My duties were including managing their social media account as well as fundraising for Greenpeace.

I honed my design skills by creating a range of digital content and gained experience in using softwares such as Canvas, iMovie, and Premier Pro. Given my relevant past experiences and passion for this role, I am willing to increase the reach on our social media pages and help bolster the image of our society. I want to serve my Turkish community in the best way possible.
