Election post

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My main goal would be creating a proper organisational system for Network documents and meeting notes: I like to keep things dated at the top of the page and in separate google drive folders so there's no way to forget what's what. I would also want to be a reliable source of Network information, for example on our policies or on what future decisions may be. The predominant purpose of a secretary in my opinion, besides the note taking, is having what people need when they need it.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have previous organisational experience from sixth form where I helped run an LGBT society that essentially functioned as the mouthpiece between school staff and our LGBT population. Currently I have a part-time tutoring job in a tuition centre where my employers put a lot of emphasis on keeping our own concise, detailed notes on each of our students (16 daily). The lessons themselves have also made me a good multi-tasker as there are 4 students to a desk, each doing their own tasks. Additionally, I'm a fast typist who puts an emphasis on readability when making notes and I'm good for a chat

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I would enjoy the job and I would like to help out with the UCL Trans community! I wouldn't feel comfortable in a higher leadership position, there are plenty of people who would manage that better than me, but I'm really eager to support the activities of the Trans Network from the informational angle. I can show up to meetings when I'm needed, I'm good at taking notes, and I'm good at organising files. I hope to be at UCL for a couple more years and I'd like to contribute in that time.
