Ever since coming to uni, RUMS tennis has been a huge part of my life. I’ve been involved in all aspects of the club- practice sessions, matches, sports nights, tutorials, UH… Over the years, I’ve got to know most of the people in RUMS tennis and I can safely say that they are what makes the club so special. I would love to carry on the club the same way it has been by all the previous presidents. I’ve got experience working in committees at school and university- being the Chair of WinS, organising a conference there and also being the London Workshop lead for BOMSA. A few things I would like to do:
Integrate social tennis and squad tennis by organising a charity tournament where we paid one squad and one social member together and play a doubles tournament.
Create some more structure in the club. So organise practice sessions and courts working with the captains in advance to try focus on certain areas. Organise more events throughout the year like the 24 hour match and potentially going to Wimbledon as rums tennis next year. Work with the education lead and organise tutorials in a more structured way.
Have an international tour earlier on in the year so as many people as possible in RUMS tennis can attend
I’m very excited to create some good merch- training kits, jumpers/ hoodies available to all members
I’m a very organised person who is easy to approach and I’m always excited to hear different ideas and how to improve the club and would love your vote
