Stuart Li-Tremble

I have been a member of the society for 2 years now, first as a BUCS M3 member and then as M2 captain. My experience on the committee has given me insights into how the society functions. Since first year, I have attended practically all socials, helped out at R&D and organised team events and dinners. I have been engaged in all aspects of the society and understand the importance of unity in such a big club.

I have full confidence in my ability to work with next year’s committee to deliver on our goals. I want to maintain the high standards delivered by the current committee whilst bringing forward new ideas to help the society grow. Here are my ideas:

General Society

  • Work closely with the committee to ensure the demands of members are heard and met.
  • Organise large-scale charity events to raise money for good causes.
  • Encourage whole society events ensuring all members are included.

R&D

  • Ensure a schedule of rotating BUCS and LUSL players so there is sufficient help for all sessions.
  • Ensure balls are constantly being cycled between BUCS/LUSL and R&D so there are enough balls for coaching.
  • Introduce a ‘pay and play’ model for non-members.
  • Offer more socials specifically aimed to integrate R&D.

BUCS/LUSL

  • Subsidising kit/potential sponsorships.
  • Additional training sessions.
  • An end-of-season event to celebrate the achievements of the season.
  • Preseason training for existing BUCS members.
  • Encourage team socials, e.g., team dinners.

Roberta B Schofield-Martoglio

Heya! I’m Roberta (or Robi) and here's my manifesto:

What makes me qualified for presidency?

In my 2 years at UCL Tennis I have been a BUCS team player, LTA ambassador, R&D Coach and handled R&D Instagram (over 400 followers in less than a year).

I’ve secured partnerships with racket stringers, played BUCS matches, organised tournaments with international tennis teams and coached over 100 players with the R&D Team at our R&D Wednesdays sessions.

I have developed networks and partnerships with the National Tennis Centre, leaders of sport across the LTA, UK and globally; all to improve UCL Tennis.

Main goals as president?

Quality – On and off courts in our team, practices, socials and community. Quality is achieved through commitment and energy, which UCL Tennis has, now it needs a clear objectives to aim for.

Transparency – within our committee, our teams and the community. Everyone should know what UCL Tennis does, stand for and maintains.

Clarity – clear goals and events to be set out throughout the year on all levels. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

My motive for going for president?

My ultimate goal is to create a strong team within committee, BUCS, LUSL and R&D. I love UCL Tennis and work extremally hard on and off court to produce events that everyone from levels of UCL Tennis can experience the joy I receive from tennis.

With clear planning and transparency, together we can achieve true quality throughout UCL Tennis.

Thank you for considering me!
