SfGH has been an important part of my life at UCL, being a member for the past two years. At SfGH, I have built wonderful friendships and gained deep insights from mentors. I am running for treasurer of SfGH and hope to share my passion with everyone.

This year, I have been a co-lead for the Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) campaign at UCL and a member of the UAEM National Committee. The experience has equipped me with skills - communication, management, and problem-solving - vital for this role. In the upcoming year, I want to focus more locally within UCL and hope to share my passion for global health with other fellow students.

As the treasurer of SfGH, I will work closely alongside the rest of the committee to bring everyone more events and opportunities. Our finances - from membership fees and more - should be used to enhance our members' experience. Some changes which I hope to push towards include:

  • Outreach to students who may not be from traditionally allied-health backgrounds. Health is becoming increasingly intersectional with other fields of knowledge, so I hope to spread a greater appreciation for healthcare topics!
  • More socials to improve the cohesiveness of SfGH. I hope SfGH will become a fun and inclusive community for all existing and new members.
  • Feedback and communication system between the committee and members. Beyond the socials, I hope to empower all SfGH members to contribute and play a role in deciding the direction of SfGH.
