Whilst studying Global Health, I have been able to explore medicine from a holistic perspective. Through studying this year, it has allowed me to broaden my perspective of what medicine and care really encompasses, and the variation in issues which the medical profession face on a more global scale. I have worked as a student promoter for the global health conference at UCL, and am attending IFMSA EuRegMe in Bosnia this summer, partaking in the standing committee on Health in Conflict. I also regularly attend a Global Health journal club, to enable me to further broaden my understanding of Global Health issues.

Through my experience with surgical society, I have worked with the WinS mentorship team, helping to run both the conference speed mentoring and the Women in Surgery mentorship scheme. I have also been running a Student Led widening participation project for INUGSC. My work within surgical society has allowed me to gain experience organising conferences, running mentorship schemes and organising events. I hope to be able to offer my skills to the role of General Secretary for Students for Global Health. I hope to organise more talks from a greater variety of different backgrounds, specifically concerning global health issues facing the world today such as health in conflict zones and resource-poor settings, and digital health surveillance. I would also like to work to organise talks emphasising other issues that affect global health such as gender and climate change.
