Over the 2022-2023 academic year, the society has given me and my son the opportunity to find a welcoming and supportive space within a university context in which everything seems to be tailored about the needs and preferences of young students with no caring responsibilities. Being in the society also inspired me to reclaim my space as a student parent and fight against the barriers that those with children have to face. As a welfare officer, I would work hard to ensure that the society continues being a supportive space for students with caring responsibilities and that members' feelings and needs are at the centre of all activities and initiatives planned.
