Over the 2022-2023 academic year, the society has given me and my son the opportunity to find a welcoming and supportive space within a university context in which everything seems to be tailored about the needs and preferences of young students with no caring responsibilities. Being in the society also inspired me to reclaim my space as a student parent and fight against the barriers that those with children have to face. As a president, I would continue Louise's wonderful work in creating engaging and accessible events for parents, carers, and children and liaising with the Student Union to make the university space even more accessible to families.
