Being part of stage crew for the last year has been one of the best decisions I've made.  I've worked with some of the loveliest people I've met, creating some of the coolest shows.  I love just helping for the get ins (and outs) to help make the show and facilitate it.

I want to get involved a bit more in the society and be on the committee. I have a great relationship with the theatre techs so I think I would be able to liaise with them in a positive way in helping make sure that the productions are running smoothly.  I also am very good at balancing all the various commitments I have so I think I would be able to be organised in keeping everything on track.

It's a new exciting role and I would love to be able to get involved and help with more shows!

Esme Brown

Hello! I'm Esme (she/her) and I'd love to be your first ever Bloomsbury Theatre Manager!

I think we can all agree that working in the Bloomsbury Theatre, whilst being an amazing opportunity, does not always run as smoothly as everyone would like. By being the Bloomsbury Theatre Manager, I would work hard to shape the role into one that eases communication between the Theatre Technical Team and the society.

I have experience as Production Manager on two Bloomsbury Theatre shows (Jazz Through The Eras, A Midsummer Night's Dream) and a studio show (Tick, Tick, Boom!) making me familiar with the environment and suitable for this role. I have also had other active roles in Bloomsbury shows since joining the society back in 2021. I feel like this puts me in a position to give guidance to members who wish to work on shows in the theatre, whether this be small roles or a lead.

My aims:

  • Ensure Society Members receive an acceptable standard of support from the Technical Team
  • Work with the VP and Technical Team to ensure sufficient training sessions are provided and respond to demand for new training sessions that are requested.
  • Provide guidance and support to Members working or wishing to work on a Bloomsbury Theatre show, including keeping in contact with the crews throughout the week.
  • Create role support sheets to guide Members on how to prep for upcoming shows to improve the efficiency of Get In, eg. production week schedule, department schedules, lighting plans.
