Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society: President

Hi, I’m Benji and I’m running for Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society President. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a second year maths student and I’ve been your board games officer for the last 2 years. I’m running for president because this society means a lot to me and I hope that I can provide the leadership that this society deserves.

I feel that I would be a good choice for president for a number of reasons. I have lots of experience working within the committee so I understand how this society operates. Having won multiple Magic: the Gathering tournaments - and lost many more - I think I am cringe enough to be your president. This society holds a special place in my heart and I promise to work hard for it.

As president, I would aim to continue as the society has operated in the past, as I feel that we have an excellent array of events. However I would aim to promote the society more within the university, be this through collaborative events with other societies or other means. I’ve often felt that the society’s biggest weakness is simply that not enough people know about us and there are many potential nerds out there that we have yet to claim.
