School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies Society (SSEES): Events Officer

Hey everyone, I am Artur, and I study PSE.

Events officer is a really important position. I have the experience and the commitment necessary for that role. As a part of the Ukrainian society committee, I worked to organise many successful events - and I want to bring that experience to SSEES society. 

We will:

1) Run more Embassy events - and bring more diplomats to SSEES.

2) Cooperate with other societies for joint events.

3) Hold consistent and accessible socials.

4) Organise a regular SSEES ball. Law, Econ and even Classics have an annual ball- why shouldn’t we? 

Thanks to the great work by the current committee, SSEES society is financially healthy and has a large budget surplus. I will not be afraid to spend it. We’ve got a detailed costings plan for next year, and we know exactly what we can and can’t afford. 

From my first day at SSEES, I completely fell in love with our wonderful community. Moreover, social events organised by the SSEES society helped me to find new friends and immerse myself more in our department. That's why I decided to nominate myself for Events Officer. 

As a Ukrainian, I understand that it is essential to share the culture of your nation and promote it on different levels. If elected, I will organise both social and academic events, where SSEES students will be able not only to socialise but also to learn more about the fascinating history and traditions of Eastern Europe.
