The School of Pharmacy society has been unable to host many meaningful events this academic year, which is why I am running for the position of General Secretary. I believe that it is crucial to hear the voices of students and implement their ideas to improve the Pharmacy Society in the next academic year.

As General Secretary, I aim to:

  • Increase membership engagement by hosting regular meetings with the team to discuss potential events that can be implemented in the academic year. Surveys and polls will be sent to the students' pharmacy group chat to gauge their interest in the events.
  • Expand the society's network by reaching out to other pharmacy schools within the UK and potentially setting up inter-school competitions.
  • Advocate for pharmacy-related issues by partnering with groups such as Fight The Fakes and PharmAlliance, collaborating in writing newsletters to highlight global pharmacy affairs and hosting workshops for students.

My past experiences as the Co-Lead of the PharmAlliance society have equipped me with the necessary skills for the role of General Secretary. I have overseen many projects, such as the newsletter for pen pals and organizing World Anti-Microbial Awareness week. Through these experiences, I have developed essential soft skills such as communication and teamwork.

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve as General Secretary and would be honoured to have your support in the upcoming election. Thank you for considering my candidacy.
