If you haven't seen me in the salsa classes themselves, you probably know me as the person at the door, registering you in for your booked classes! That's me, Michi, the classes coordinator this year and I'm running for this role again for the 2023/2024 academic year.

When I campaigned for this role back in November 2022, I said that I was dedicating more time to salsa than my final-year research project. Since my love for the dance and our wonderful community has only grown since then, that previous statement -still holds true to this day (just don't tell my supervisor!).

In the three months since I was elected, I've mastered the behind-the-scenes work that ensures classes and workshops run smoothly, forged strong working relationships with each of our instructors and learnt the inner workings of the room booking system - all of which will allow the future committee to continue providing quality classes, events and workshops for our growing community of 500+ members.

Being a member of the UCL Salsa Society and a part of the committee as the class coordinator (and unofficial competition photographer!) has been an incredibly rewarding experience and has completely changed my university life. So yet again, with your vote, I'd love to keep using all the knowledge I've gained to foster the legacy of UCL's Salsa Society and continue making it a safe space for anyone to explore their passion for salsa and bachata, no matter their level of experience!
