Rishika Hundal

Hi, I'm Rish and I'm running for one of the Vice President positions for UCL Punjabi Society!

As the current Welfare Officer, I have had the opportunity to work closely with the wonderful 2022/3 committee. This has enabled me to understand the ins and outs of the society and has given me the experience and confidence to strive for a bigger role next year.

As a vice president, I would aim to promote a larger variety of events to provide an opportunity for members to socialise in a more relaxed environment; catering for both non-drinkers and drinkers collectively. Additionally, I would like to increase our charity work and organize a large-scale event (eg. a ball) that would showcase the rich Punjabi culture. Also, I believe that it is important for the society to interact more with other universities. This year, we have started building relationships with other Punjabi societies in London, and I would like to continue this trend by organising joint events that will increase our sense of community and collaboration.

Punjabi Society is a truly amazing community and has been nothing short of family for me this year. I hope to have the opportunity to continue making positive changes and reaching even larger goals for the society this coming year <3

Anmol Singh

Shweta Sharma

Hi! My name is Shweta and I am studying Population Health Sciences with Data Science. As an individual with Punjabi heritage and having spent a significant amount of time in Punjab, I have a deep and personal connection to my cultural background.

I had the privilege of serving as a First Year Representative for the society in my first year. During my time as a representative, I had the opportunity to help organise and execute various events such as Chit Chaat, Karaoke Night, Lohri Celebrations, and many more. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in event planning, communication, and teamwork.

What I found most fulfilling about serving as a representative was building strong friendships with the committee members and getting to know members of the society. This has inspired me to take my involvement with the society to the next level by applying for the Vice President position.

If selected as Vice President, I would work to bring more events that celebrate and preserve our culture while also building our community. I believe that my experience and passion for the society would make me a valuable member of the committee. I am excited about the opportunity to continue serving the UCL Punjabi Society and contributing to its mission and goals.

Shiven Arora

I am a first year representative for Punjabi society this year. I have had an amazing experience being on committee this year and would love to be Vice President next year as a continuation from my current role. The society is very friendly and I want to be actively involved in organising events and helping the society run smoothly.
