Polish Society: Events Coordinator

Hi Everyone,

I’m Weronika, the current interim First Year Representative of the Polish Society committee, going into my second year as a Chemistry student at UCL. 

During the last few weeks, my responsibilities included recruiting people to the Society and helping to organise and promote events. As I found my role very enjoyable and rewarding, I would love to continue doing this next year as well. Having gained some valuable experience, I would make a great addition to the committee. 

The Polish Society has been very welcoming from the beginning of my UCL journey, from the Welcome Fair, where I first found out about our community, to the latest events we have been organising. The initiatives of the Society helped me widen my friend group, find a sense of belonging and not lose my connection to the Polish culture. 

For this reason, knowing what me and my friends from the Society found particularly interesting and engaging, I would like to continue the committee team’s incredible work by organising the events, making our community even bigger and spreading the Polish culture to people from other countries. 

Next year, I would like other students to feel how the current committee made me feel by organising events, such as, for example, game/quiz nights, Polish celebrations, and working on resuming Polish language classes. One of my aims is also to cater our events to non-Polish students interested in our culture. 

Hello, my name is Hanna and I'm running for the Events Coordinator position at the Polish Society. I am currently a first-year Polish student of BSc Management Science.  In my final year of IB I organized a SG MUN conference for over 100 students and directed a budget of 25000 PLN, the successfulness of which proved my time-management, delegating and communication skills. have prepared me with the critical, analytical and strategic thinking that is well desired in any industry. I want to share this passion with other UCL students.

In the following terms as the Events Coordinator, I wish to reach out to more sponsors and broaden the network of the Polish society. Finally, I have energy and passion to serve the Society. As the Events Coordinator, I will plan, manage and network to bring in more affordable events. Be it social events or the UCL Leaders conference, for students interested in business, tech or ESG to continuously improve and hone their abilities to impact the world even after they leave UCL. Additionally, I would organise more social events where members would intermingle across project teams, to improve the cohesiveness and dynamic of the Polish Society.
