I would like to apply for the position of Welfare Officer for the Committee as I am passionate about mental health, well-being of others and inclusion, and I would like to make a positive impact on other peoples lives.
I enjoy forging long lasting personal relationships and providing support and assistance to anyone experiencing difficulties in the society. I am very approachable, ensuring I'm easily contacted with any issues and concerns.
I have undertaken a similar position in my part-time job in customer service which has seen me as the youngest team leader, making me responsible for the new employees, and helping them with their positions in the store and any issues that arose, confidentially and swiftly resolving any personal problems. I have also been a mentor for younger transitioning students in sixth form in the art department, which taught me a creative and comfortable approach, and proved to me that I am passionate about wellbeing.
I am good at problem solving and can take initiative and seek solutions, I am innovative and creative, and would love to explore peoples interests and talents to create a more friendly and unified environment for all those involved.
To conclude, I believe I am a good match for the position as I'm enthusiastic, communicative and creative, making me adept at establishing positive relationships, creatively constructing activities and being responsible for the wellbeing of those within the society.

Pole is really important to me!
Pole being a safe space for everyone to explore themselves, their sensuality and femininity is really important to me - I'd like to make sure this carries on next year!

Hey everyone, I'm a 3rd year engineering & architecture student. I have loved being part of pole since I joined last year, and I hope to give back to the club by being on committee.
Pole is one of the friendliest societies, with the most supportive members, something that I would like to maintain. As welfare officer, I will promote the friendly community and provide a support network for members. I will increase accessibility of welfare services by creating an online form for easier, direct contact, so I can efficiently help anyone struggling with issues, as well as creating welfare drop-in sessions and making people aware of UCL support services.
Alongside mental wellbeing, an important part of pole is physical wellbeing, which I want to create a greater awareness of, to ensure people are practicing safely. I would like to do this by having the society offer injury prevention workshops which focus on mobility, conditioning, and safe practices, as well as recovery sessions for relaxation and where necessary, rehabilitation.
I am experienced in planning and hosting events, so you can trust me to organise fun, welcoming welfare-socials, where everyone will have a chance to be involved and find their space in the society.
I am very friendly and approachable and will be available to provide support to members in whatever capacity they require. Please vote for me, and in the meantime feel free to get in touch with me or ask any questions if you see me around the studio! <3
