As fitness secretary I would be committed to ensuring that the sessions were goal specific, taking into account the requirements of individual players, and what they need to improve their fitness for games. I would build on the sessions difficulty each week so that people's fitness improved incrementally throughout the year. One of the keys with fitness is not burning out - something which I will tailor my sessions to avoid.

I believe that I am qualified for this position as I have always been a cross country runner, with lots of experience in fitness drills/coaching. All of this has given me ideas which I hope to bring to this role.

Fitness can not only be physically draining, but also mentally draining, so I will be emotionally supportive as the sessions are taking place, fostering netball's commitment to teamwork and inclusion. Moreover, I will create adaptations for different levels to cater for all abilities - making sure that everyone is given a challenging session.

Fitness is open to everyone and yet it is only 1s and 2s who have been attending. If I was fitness secretary I would want to run a campaign to encourage more players to attend, given the importance of fitness for not only netball, but people's mental health and well-being.

I would also be open to changing the format slightly of fitness sessions, for example, running the session at parkrun once a term. This would mean players can measure their fitness against their time and see direct improvement.
