Musical Theatre Society: Welfare Officer

Hello everyone! My name is Elmeeza <3

For the majority of my time in Musical Theatre Society, I have always seen it as a safe space for myself, and I feel that as Welfare Officer, I will be able to continue and maintain that to those who need it most and wish to make this society their own safe space! :)

As someone who struggles with mental health herself , I understand the importance in having someone that you can rely on, and I hope to be that friendly face that you can approach if you need help!!

If I were to be part of the committee, I hope to make welfare a more active theme in the society by having frequent meetings with society members, by organising welfare socials as well as by planning/sharing any welfare activities for anybody who might need it to help with mental health

I love working and being there for people and I hope to be able to be your welfare officer next year <3

I wish to stand as a “Big Sister” (or MT mom?) for all members (new or old) of the MT Soc; someone you can turn to, no matter the circumstance, someone who can guide you through your journey in the MT world or just be there as your biggest supporter. Anyone that has worked with me so far knows that I’m the biggest hype person out there. I take other people’s well-being very seriously, and I go out of my way to ensure people in my community feel happy and safe.

As someone who’s new to this world, having someone to push me and support me unconditionally was exactly what I needed to pursue my passion that was once mocked and derided. I know what most (new) members might be going through. I wish to guide them—guide you. I definitely have still a lot to learn, but I’m a great listener and an even better problem solver. I’m not afraid to call people out on their mal-behaviour. And I’m not afraid of a challenge either.

I want to spend time with u, listen to your concerns but also your dreams. I want to know about your fav shows and roles, what you wish to experience in the Soc and what you don’t. I want to be someone you can trust and turn to whenever you need to.Or just someone who you’d like to talk to from time to time. Anything you’d bring to my attention, would be truly addressed adequately and in a timely manner. 

I stand because I want people to feel loved and appreciated in this Soc just as much as I did. That’s why I ask for your vote ❤️?

I’m going to keep this brief and simple — I love, love, love, love, love musical theatre. And I absolutely love this society. I haven’t been part of it for long, only recently participating in the gala we did, but those few weeks of preparation and anticipation filled me with a kind of joy I can little describe. 
Therefore, I am running for welfare officer, so I can share the love I have, and help others feel inspired, passionate, and happy. I really want to engage with all the incredible, and talented people that are part of this society, and just be a kind of help to them in some way. 
I’m from Ukraine, and ever since the war, I learned the true importance of having someone that could be there for you no matter what, with whom you can be open, and whom you can share with in your even most minute of problems. And it would be an honour to serve that purpose for this one of a kind community!
